Seminar Courses and Offered in the First-Year Academic Program
New Student Experience Seminars (NSES) are offered fall, winter & spring quarters, as stand-alone courses. NSESs are smaller courses, which limit enrollment to 25 students. NSESs are a combination of special topics courses and community-engaged learning experiences that change quarterly.
The Seminar 190-191-192 seminar series is designed to support the academic success and offer a community engagement experience to incoming first-year first-generation students coming to Western Seminar 190 includes an early start in the fall quarter that allows students to move into their university residence a week before the fall quarter starts so they can acclimate to the university life, become familiar with the campus resources, and participate in activities with their Seminar 190 cohort members.
